JAX Researchers Keep Their Labs in Sync with Labguru
Cambridge, Mass. – 9 September, 2015 – BioData, producer of Labguru, announces that The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) has licensed Labguru for research documentation, project management and inventory tracking.
Labguru is a web app that offers flexible e-notebooks, shared inventories and intuitive messaging features for better lab documentation and communication.
Traditionally, inventory databases are separated from experimental data and electronic lab notebooks. With Labguru, researchers at JAX will be able to seamlessly link specimen inventories to the experiments they are used in.
Labguru will be used as an e-notebook (ELN), specimen management system and project management tool for researchers at two JAX locations: the new Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine in Farmington, Conn., and the headquarters campus in Bar Harbor, Maine. Independent researchers and managers of core facilities are using Labguru as their electronic lab notebook and sample management platform, with each lab account receiving its own ELN and inventory database.
Labguru’s founder, Jonathan Gross, said, “JAX researchers have had an incredible impact on biomedical research and advancing human health over almost nine decades, and it’s extremely exciting to think about Labguru’s supporting these discoveries. Having JAX see that Labguru can make their research even better–through faster and easier collaboration and streamlined data management–is a distinguished recognition and important validation of our mission.”
Major pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, research hospitals, individual academic labs and entire institutions use Labguru’s ELN and LIMS system.
