2024 European Meeting of ISMPP - Innovation, the new tradition. 23-23 January 2024, London UK

The 2024 meeting theme of Innovation: The New Tradition ties the new innovations that have been introduced into the industry to the existing high standards, principles, processes and ethics that are entwined in the more traditional ideas. Digital Science is delighted to be returning to exhibit again at the 2024 meeting, and will be presenting a workshop as part of the conference program.

Workshop title: What’s a “good” journal anyway?

Tuesday 23rd January 2024 – 13:25 – 14:05 and 14:15 – 14:55

In this interactive, enlightening (and hopefully entertaining) workshop, you’ll get to discuss ideas of what makes a good journal. Learn how data science is creating new qualitative insights from quantitative data that shed new light onto the health of a journal, how trust markers derived from publications might support your mission to communicate research and AI is being used to quality the ‘buzz’ around your papers and journals. You’ll also benefit from a quick dive into the maths of some of the world’s best known journal indicators, learn why they’re not fit for purpose in 2024.

Learning objectives:

  1. What makes a good journal
  2. The restraints of current journal indicators
  3. The future of journal selection
