Altmetric Expands International Reach with New Publisher Implementations
Our portfolio company Altmetric, today announced that Karger Publishers, the American Society of Clinical Oncology®, Tsinghua University Press and The Physical Society of Japan have all integrated the Altmetric badges into their platforms to provide authors and readers with up-to-the-minute insights on the attention surrounding their published content.
These publishers join over 100 academic content providers who already display the Altmetric badges on their journals and books.
Sharon Mattern Büttiker, Web Alliance Manager at Karger Publishers says:
“Launching Altmetric badges is the next step in our online evolution. Researchers and authors are interested in the full impact of the content they read and publish. This includes how it is being shared, blogged, and integrated into government studies and news outlets. Altmetric speaks to that need and underscores our efforts to measure the effectiveness of our research dissemination.”
Altmetric’s Founder Euan Adie commented:
“We’re delighted to see new publishers coming on board with Altmetric, providing authors with immediate feedback on their work and the ability to easily demonstrate its reach and visibility. The decision of Tsinghua University Press and The Japanese Physical Society to adopt the badges is particularly exciting, and we look forward to working with them to further understand perceptions of research impact amongst their audiences.”
