Boosting our Bibliometrics Activities with New Appointments
We are proud to announce that leading industry experts, Mike Taylor and Aaron Sorensen, join our growing global team. These newly created positions will strengthen our evolving bibliometrics business.
Mike Taylor, newly appointed Head of Metrics Development brings a wealth of experience from the publishing arena. Based in the UK, Taylor’s responsibilities at Digital Science will include the definition of metrics for existing and new products and developing relationships with research institutions to further understand the community’s needs. Until recently, Taylor was in the Elsevier Labs group, where he worked on altmetrics, ORCID and many other emerging technology projects.

US-based Aaron Sorensen, has been appointed to the role of Bibliometrics Engagement Leader within Digital Science’s portfolio company, ÜberResearch and will work closely with Taylor. Sorensen recently joined from Temple University School of Medicine where his research centered on the analysis of large datasets to gain an understanding of the roles collaboration and competition play within the context of scientific discovery. Prior to Temple, Sorensen held similar positions at Johns Hopkins University, GE Healthcare and Elsevier. Sorensen currently serves as the inaugural Scientometrics Editor for the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
