RDA 23rd Plenary Meeting

The Research Data Alliance’s 23rd Plenary Meeting is taking place in the capital of Costa Rica – San José and online on 12-14 November 2024. With the theme ‘Sustainable Science’, the 23rd Plenary edition will be held in a hybrid format with in-person and online audience.

Mark Hahnel, Figshare Founder and Digital Science VP, Open Research is a keynote speaker at the event and will deliver the opening plenary session: ‘Sustainable Science specifically Responsible Data in the Scientific Era‘ | Tuesday, 12th November, 08:00 – 09:30 CST.

This talk will look at how funders, countries and even institutions are having differing levels of success when it comes to encouraging researchers to open data. From this we can start to understand what best practices can help us move further, faster as a global community towards open FAIR data.

We will also be participating in a “Birds of a Feather” session on Thursday the 14th of November, as part of our work with the Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative. Mark Hahnel will be leading and facilitating this session: ‘The Role of generalist repositories in the research data landscape’ and will be joined by representatives from other participating generalist repositories.
