Overleaf Partners with The Genetics Society of America (GSA)
Team Overleaf is going from strength to strength! Today they announce a new partnership with The Genetics Society of America (GSA). Through this partnership, authors submitting to GSA’s GENETICS and G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics journals will soon have access to the award winning Overleaf collaborative cloud-based writing and reviewing tool.
They will be able to quickly and easily write articles in a customised journal template and collaborate on those articles with colleagues.
Tracey DePellegrin, Executive Editor of GENETICS & G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics explains:
“As genetics continues to become more interdisciplinary, we are publishing an increasing number of articles in population & evolutionary genetics, bioinformatics, and complex traits from authors with computational or mathematical backgrounds who prefer to use LaTeX. These communities are very important to us. In fact, our longtime community of population and evolutionary genetics authors, themselves cutting edge, have been asking for a solution/tool/platform like this for years.”
“It’s exciting to work with Overleaf to provide our authors with this innovative, faster and simpler LaTeX writing, reviewing and submission tool. Overleaf has helped us to add value to our journals, improving our LaTeX submission process for both authors, and our editorial office/team.”
Custom GSA journal templates will be available to help authors write and publish their work in the correct journal format. The partnership allows GSA Journal authors to access the Overleaf scientific writing service directly using links from the GENETICS and G3 manuscript submission sites. Once the author has completed writing and collaborating on a document, they will be able to submit directly to the GENETICS or G3 journals using a link from Overleaf.
John Hammersley, Founder and CEO of Overleaf adds:
“As an interdisciplinary scientist myself, and seeing the recent innovations and rate of progress in fields such as computational biology, I’m hugely excited for Overleaf to be able to support the GSA and their authors through this new partnership.”
