Ask John Hammersley Anything on Reddit #AskJohnOverleaf

Join us for John Hammersley’s very first Reddit Ask Me Anything, at 6pm GMT/1pm EST on the 14th January

The Reddit Ask Me Anything forum (AMA) is a favorite way to ask those of note, questions you wouldn’t normally get a chance to. Back in early 2015 both Mark Hahnel, the founder of Figshare, and Euan Adie, the founder of Altmetric, took part in this popular discussion forum on the science subreddit; you can read all about them here.

Following their lead, on Thursday the 14th January at 6pm UK time / 1pm ESTJohn Hammersley, the co-founder of Overleaf, will be taking part in his first AMA on the science subreddit.  The Ask Me Anything post can be found here.

John’s intriguing submission will look at career transitions and how to make them successful in the scientific arena. In a previous life, John worked on the first passenger trials for Heathrow’s Personal Rapid Transit system of driverless pods and he also has a PhD in Mathematics. During his AMA he will answer questions around his shift from academia to industry and then to an academic industry (as well as anything else you may like to know).
