Mary Anne Baynes joins Overleaf as Head of Sales and Marketing
Overleaf, Digital Science’s latest investment and the leading collaborative authoring and publishing tool for scientific research, is pleased to announce that Mary Anne Baynes will be joining as their Head of Sales and Marketing.
Mary Anne has more than 20 years of experience in international sales, marketing and program development for various technology-based companies, both large and small – most recently in the STM, Institutional, and Association publishing industries through Cenveo Publisher Services, The Charlesworth Group and American Journal Experts.
Through her roles with these companies, she has been able to successfully work within publisher, researcher and institutional markets – providing a firm understanding of the various layers within the scientific publishing community.
Mary Anne has also been instrumental in the global expansion of these services. Owing to her in-depth industry experience and knowledge, she was invited to become the co-chair of the Society for Scholarly Publishing Education Committee, to help guide the direction for SSP’s educational seminars and webinars. She is expertly poised to expand global awareness and adoption of the Overleaf service through her unique mix of industry, publishing, and technology expertise.
“This is truly an exciting opportunity and I’m honoured to join Overleaf and their incredible team”, says Mary Anne. “Overleaf provides powerful technology that allows researchers to easily interact and deliver research faster and more reliably to other researchers, institutions, publishing pipelines and others outside of the scientific community. It’s an exciting time of growth for the company and I look forward to working on their continued development and expansion into the scientific and scholarly publishing markets.”
John Hammersley, the company’s co-founder and CEO adds:
“We’re delighted to welcome Mary Anne to Overleaf. She has exactly the right mix of experience in technology and publishing to take Overleaf forward, and her enthusiasm for joining the team has shone through right from our first conversation. I’m confident that with Mary Anne leading our sales and marketing efforts we’re in the perfect position for Overleaf to serve an increasing number of students, teachers and researchers in 2015 and beyond.”
We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Mary Anne to the growing Overleaf team!
